Pet Carrier/Crates/Kennels

Purchasing a proper travel carrier is one of the most important items you will make for your pet’s relocation.

Measurement Guides for Airline Pet Carrier-Crate-Kennels

*The images above give measuring directions and a guideline for calculating the correct size airline shipping container for your pet/s. They relate to a pet standing in a natural position.

Guidance for Calculating Properly Sized Pet Airline Shipping Containers

  • Crate should be tall enough for the pet to stand upright comfortably.
  • Pet should not have to bend downward to see.
  • Carrier needs to be wide enough for pet to do a full turn comfortably.
  • Crate length needs to be long enough for pet to lie down comfortably, while legs are
    extended.

Guidance for your pet’s water and food bowls

  • Water is essential before and during flight.
  • An attached food and water bowl must be hooked to inner part of the carrier door.
  • We recommend freezing water in bowl, so it will melt while enroute.
  • Bring along a small ziploc bag with pet food and tape it top of carrier.

Pet Measurement:

A = length of the pet from tip of nose to base of tail.

B = height from ground to top of leg or elbow

C = width across right & left shoulders

D = height of the pet in normal standing position from the ground to the top of the head or the top
of the ear in upright ear breeds. (For a cat you might find it easier to measure height while cat is sitting with head upright)

Minimum Container Dimensions are:

Length = A+1/2 of B

Width = C x 2 (1 pet) or C x 3 (2 pets)

Height = D

*Note: True
Kennel Length Width Does not include doorway or side rim

Kennel Extension and Custom kennels (for Larger Breeds)

We offer customs kennels that will accomidate  larger breeds. This is also recomended on breeds that may be listed as aggressive, or require to travel via custom kennel by the airlines due to size.

 Kennel extensions are also a great option for the larger pets that need an additional 3-5 inches in height to allow for international or domestic travel. All kennels and extensions are constructed to adhere by IATA & airline standards.
